Shampoo for Color-Treated Hair

Some decisions are etched in stone, or in this case, hair dye. Whether the salon employees already know you as a regular or you’re someone who likes to take the at-home, DIY route, we think you’d agree that once you make the color-it decision, reversing it is generally not an option.

But maintaining that color? It takes time, dedication and the right products.

Color-treated hair and water are not friendly, so the best thing to do is keep them apart — simply reduce the number of times you’ll wash your hair from now on. On those days when you do wash your hair, it’s important to make sure you use a color-safe shampoo. These types of shampoos are designed to leave the color molecules on your hair alone, making sure you retain and keep that color vibrant, all while helping to mask any damage.

As always, choices on the market are aplenty, but after reviewing the reviews we decided to discuss Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo.

A mainstay in the world of hair coloring, Olaplex has massive amounts of hype, and the reviews say that it’s well deserved. Expedient at repairing your colored hair from common issues like frizz, heat damage and split ends, Olaplex works by rebuilding the hair bonds that have been damaged during the coloring process, all while keeping the ones that are intact stronger and healthier. And while it’s sulfate-free ( a good thing), it still can create a good head of foam, which can be rinsed easily.

People with different hair types need not worry, as this product works with all hair types. Based on reviews however, it works best with hair that has gone through some chemical processing such as being colored. It also has gleaming reviews and a near-perfect five-star rating.

Olaplex has about 8,000 reviews. One noted how it has helped bring back her hair’s former shine by using just a small amount, while another noted how it lathers very well and has kept the colored hair soft and tangle-free. One compared the difference between a trip to the hairdresser and a trip to the bathroom to embark on the coloring process, with the user confidently more pleased with the latter option. Another user was very pleased with its pleasant smell.

So, our assessment is that Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo should be the go-to for colored hair enthusiasts out there — if they want to maintain their hair’s health and its color.

But stop! Read this before you take our advice. Check out the Olaplex website regarding where to buy this product. Apparently, the scam artists are out there.
